So i started my day off by escaping -i mean leaving from my Uncles place. The kids are cute but i'm so not used to having clingy little koalas around e.e i think i got half sick after spending 3 days with them.. or maybe it was from rolling around in the snow hmm..
Either way, head was throbbing and my body was aching so i decided to go relax at the bath house right near my sisters dorm.
I know it kinda looks like a dodgy building.. but its actually quite a popular Plaza (Gwanhak Plaza). THe bath house is on the 4th floor.

Ive only been to a bath house once before so i was still kinda nervous about the whole naked thing... ANd i think i chose the worst possible day to go :L It was a saturday AND it was the start of WInter Break for most schools..
It was soo packed!
But i didnt let that stop me from stripping naked infront of a whole crowd of wrinkly old ladies and dozing off in a 39 degree spa :3 and despite the bustle inside the baths, it was soooo relaxing.
So for just the baths its 7 bukks but if you pay an extra dollar, you can go into the Jimjil area and get these awesome color coded uniforms hehe. You get access to all these awesome facilities like the heat/ice rooms, sleeping rooms, gym, pc rooms and dvd rooms, some even have Karaoke rooms but not this one :c
Oh and theres a stall where you can buy food! I got the famous hard boiled eggs :)

They were super yum. i tried cracking one on my head but it didnt work! :C they were rock hard!!! it really hurt...
It was pretty crowded so i could only get a spot in the dark areas where people can sleep.

I could only spend about an hour in the Jimjil area cause it was packed and loud plus there wasnt really much to do there.

SO later that night, me and mary met up with Daniel, Shinoo and Josh at Hongdae for dinner! Since they were leaving on Monday, it was kind of a farewell dinner between them and my sister as they wont be seeing each other for another few years or so! :O
STreets of Hongdae! SUper packed on a Saturday night!
Hongdae is like another little hub where uni students go to party. THeres alot of clubs and bars and even pro buskers!
Saw some buskers !
Apparently theyre pretty famous. THeir band was called "Recycled" and they were like stand up comedian/singers :D
THen we went to eat at this chicken restaurant chain called Yuganae. Its really big in Korea and i saw soo many branches here.

THe waiter comes and cooks it for you but Shinoo kept on trying to cook it himself and everytime he picked up the wooden spoon, the waiter would come and steal it off him :L
ANd Daniel was still recovering from food poisoning so he had to bring his own food (rice porridge).

Aftter the massive meal of spicy goodness we decided to go Karaoke, like true Koreans 8)

Despite killing everyons eardrums with my tonedeafness, it was loads of fun!! 8) You can really see the generational gap between me and them with our song choices.
After K, we said our final goodbyes! (BYE GUYS!! See you guys in AUS! Discounts at Alrose ;D)
By then it was around 10 ish i think? but the night was still so young. It seemed like it was only 6pm or smth cause of the number of people still out and about!
So me and mary decided to do some midnight shopping and impulse buying as well as visiting all the street food stalls! :D

THe first few bites were amazing... but we were eating while walking and the freezing cold air somehow made the spicyness more intense and we were literally crying with pain midway o.o
we had to run into the nearest convenience store and rip open a carton of milk even before paying to soothe our burning mouths. I think the cashier had seen alot of these cases cause he just stood there smiling and nodding at us .. >.> we must have looked crazy with our red, tear streaked faces while drowning ourselves in milk...

SO while we were wandering the bustling streets of Hongdae, we totally lost track of time.. and missed the last train home o.o
it was around 1am by then and we were tossing up between going to a Bathhouse and sleeping there or just taxi-ing it home.
Unfortunately we decided to be mature adults and taxi-ed it home. hmph!
Oh wells!:P It was still a super fun day, full of traumatising images that i cant unsee .. EVER.. and even some painful -but delicious- experiences! Ah Hongdae, why didnt i visit you more often??
